building an enclosure

matt_89 Mar 19, 2007 06:43 PM

I am buildingan 8 ft x 4 ft x 4 ft enclosure because I plan on getting a Makasar retic. Up to what length of the retic will an enclsure of this size be suitable? And yes, it is going to start out in small secure enclosures, but they grow fast and I want to be ready for it.

8'X 4'X 4' Is big enough for the rest of its life. That would be a nice long cage with plenty of floor area! You could dedicate a whole room to your retic but that cage would be fine!

Post some pics when you get you tic.

that is a great size for an adult retic. just remeber when they are smaller they tend to stress out in larger enclosures.also they tendto0 get moreaggresive in larger enclosures.... more space is their territory. just talking from personal experience. make sure you get a good sturdy long hook to prevent any problems happening. good luck and a makkassar is a great choice.
