Bredl's Python Breeders?

DavidKendrick Mar 19, 2007 10:00 PM

I was wondering, kinda doing a census on how many people work with Morelia Bredli? I was curious if anyone produced any Bredli this year? or if you know of someone producing them? Any responses would be great...Thanks

Hey Dave and/or Amanda!

Well, we have 2.2 bredli from 2002 (as you may already know) so there is a very good chance that we will get a clutch or two this year. But, since they are late breeders we don't expect to see eggs for a few months still, as I am sure will be the same with other breeders as well. Usually by the time they are hatched out, shed, and eaten at least a couple of times you are looking at September. Anyway, great thread, hopefully more people will chime in.

Best of luck

Thanks for the reply, I am just trying to get kinda a little census on how many people work with Bredl's Pythons, So far in only a few days time, I have tracked down quite a few breeders of them, I would love to hear if anyone sees or hears of someone working with them, or might be expecting offspring in the future.

Best of luck with them, and keep us posted...Thanks

I'm a fellow Bredl's Carpet lover in Castle Rock, CO. I have a 2002 1.1 pair of striped Bredl's which I purchased from Casey Lazik. First time mother,"Brandy" Bredl dropped her clutch in September 2006. The eggs were incubated at 89 degrees and started hatching Thanksgiving Day 2006 (56 days).

She dropped 24 eggs that looked viable and roughly 16 slugs.
In the end, I wound up with 8.8 vigorous, healthy and feeding baby striped Bredl's. 3 or 4 of the eggs were spoiled by excessive moisture and 3 hatchlings were born with severe spinal deformities and were subsequently euthanised.

This was the first clutch of snakes that I incubated and hatched out. Next time, I plan on dropping the incubation temperature to 87 degrees and checking the Sterilite containers for excess condensation every other day.

If anyone would like to see pics of the mother and a couple of the baby striped Bredl's, please email me at:

How do you post pics in this forum? (I'm a forum newbie!)
