Is anything moving in Brewster & Presido

OHI Mar 20, 2007 04:32 AM

Has anyone seen any AORs or DORs yet this year? It has been in the 90's down in Terlingua according to the weather. It has been in the low to mid 80's in El Paso. I have been out about half a dozen times for the dusk cruise and the only thing I have seen is an atrox sitting in a hole in a cut in the Huecos (3 times) and I found a Masticophis shed near a rocky out crop during the day. Not one DOR or AOR. Let us know what you locals are seeing down there.

Thanks,

Mike Welker

Masticophis and Salvadora were out in northern Brewster last week, and that was about it. I didn't spend time searching and these were incidental observations. The Masticophis was AOR and the Salvadora was DOR, both diurnally active.

Thanks Joe. I went out today and flipped some AC and found one little atrox and a couple lizards. I still didn't see anything moving at dusk or any DORs. There is a possibility of rain over the next few days with the best chance of rain on Friday. I hope it rains good and hard. That should get the animals moving because temps have been good. Please let me know what you see down there, Joe and all.

Taker easy,

I haven't done any real herping yet this year. However, I did find a cute little Mojave crossing Terlingua Ranch Rd at about 9:30pm a few nights ago. He was kind enough to pose for the camera.

I also found a nice bullsnake while drive the kids home from school a couple of weeks ago.

I've been watching the roads for DORs in the mornings but haven't seen any.
