I haven't shipped any snakes yet but on vet trips I put them in a snake bag on my lap and if it is cold I make sure that the car is warm before getting them into it and the heat is cranked.

"Can't you just feed it vegetables"? No, no I can't you stupid hippie.
1) Small snake, deli cup! Big snake, snake bag!
2) Snake bag in a styro!
Newbie ?: deli cup? where do you buy these?
Snake bag: what is the preferred material or design on this?
I use pillow cases and luckily haven't had to transport anyone when the temperatures were below 70 outside. For the babies I will probably be getting a little snake bag from LLL so that they're not lost in the folds of a pillowcase.

I saw directions on a site that spelled out how to ship snakes. I forget the site, but they appeared to be pretty "official" at the time I read the instructions.
Does an official body exist to govern shipping snakes?
And if yes, does anyone have the link? Tx.
I personally prefer using snake bags to ship and transport my snakes - they are designed to breathe a bit better than the standard pillow case - and packed properly then snake doesn't slide around a bunch like if they are shipped in containers making for a less stressful trip. If it's cold and I need to take one of my snakes somewhere I'll stick the snake in a snake bag and put it in a critter cage with some newspaper and a heat pack.
In case you need it - this is a very good site with info for shipping snakes:

Hope this helps.

At least now I know that a deli cup is the kind used to hold slaw & tuner salad, lol.
So, survey says muslin is best above the pillowcase idea?
Any other acceptable or NOT acceptable materials for the bag?
I use snake bags, pillowcases and I make bags when I run out of the first two items. I use a thin cotton or cotton/polyester blend fabric.
