bearded dragon laying eggs

shaun59 Mar 20, 2007 06:53 PM

my bearded dragon is about to lay eggs. i already have an incubator up and running but i have a couple questions. first, what temp should it be set at? right now i have it at 90 degrees. second, what do you put the eggs in? i was told to use vermiculite, so i went to walmart, they didnt have any but said perlite is about the same thing so i bought a bag of that, will that work ok? thanks

I would bring temps to 85 and perilite will work as well.

The incubation temp is too high, better to keep it around 84-86F. Perlite is fine as an incubation medium. Mix it in the same watererlite ratio as you would vermiculate. (one part water to two parts medium...by weight! not volumn)

Good luck with the eggs.
