My 4 year old son just told me he likes your Alb. tang. because it "looks like Candy"

Mike,.....It's funny that he said that!,...because the title of the post it was in months before was titled "Honduran Candy"!!lol.....that's exactly what it was supposed to look like!lol...another guy also posted that it reminded him of the "candy corn" you get during Halloween!......tell your son I think he's very "sharp" for picking up on that! I also noticed that the irises of your "extreme" tri-color also are light grey!....whereas in most others it is all "ruby-red" and not noticeable!..................................Doug

I noticed on the beautiful extreme tricolor that Doug commented on, that the snake shows some tipping. Being extreme the tipping is also grey like the banding.

This has me wondering if being hypo melanistic has no bearing on scale tipping. I realize that some tipping may always occur and it’s very possible that if the snake wasn’t hypo it may well have matured into a very dark snake. I just haven’t been exposed to many extreme hypos.

Is a lack of scale tipping a trait that improves with line breeding, and independent of hypomelanisim?

Great question,
Well, yes the extreme gene is just the best of the best hypos.I have no tipping in a couple of my extremes.
The extreme tri-color came from a triple het x hypo so it wasn't even out of a known extreme line.I am not even sure if its compatible (should know in a couple months)with Falcons line.
Yes,he shows allot of tipping now that he is older but its red or grey depending on were it is.I would say that he wouldn't be that attractive if he was a normal.

indeed it was NOT compatible with the known "extreme" gene?, and you had in effect an "extreme type B" gene unique in itself!!.. that could possibly start a whole new thing!....like I said in earlier post,..it's irises are noticeably different than most "extremes", along with the "light gray" tipping!. I wonder exactly what's up with that one!??.....I'm sure you'd like to know as well!LOL......only time will tell in future breedings!......I'm interested as to what things are produced with it's genetics!.......................................Doug

Mike,....great pics!.....I've got the same camera!!LOL...is yours also the A-540?......man,...these things are capable of doing more than most people will ever need!....they have a million features that's for sure......I only wished they explained stuff with more detail!, the instructions are VERY vague on most of the features,....I had to find out most of the stuff by pressing buttons and seeing what happened!LOL...when you find the subject you want to know more about, as soon as you start reading a few words, it refers you to another page, or the other instruction booklet!LOL.....But after much "trial & error" I was finally getting pretty comfortable with most of it!....I bet you had a similar experience.......when I first pulled it out of the box, and try to use it, it was like trying to operate the "Space Shuttle"!......no thanks to the instructions, I got it down pretty good now!LOL...let me know what you think.
