Hi guys, I'm planning to get a red saharan uro (I think they look cool) but with no luck. Is there a particular time during the year that they will breed? I tried some local pet shops but most of them don't have it or only have adult. I wanted to raise one from hatchling and was wondering if I'm looking for them at a wrong time. By the way, are they usually hard to find? I wouldn't think so coz they aren't that expensive...anyway if anyone got info. like website or breeder please let me know. Thanks a lot!!

Why is it that you are not seeing above the breeders who sponser this site??

Breeders are just barely getting eggs these days. You won't see any younguns for a while yet. You can check with one of the breeders in the forum sponsors to see if they have yearlings or you can look at large shows in your area later in the summer. Be sure to ask who bred the animal or if it's WC - even babies come WC sometimes.

I think ornates have a reputation as the friendliest species, but it really depends on the individual (in any species).

I have a red Saharan/nigerian uro. I think he is my fav. lizard by far. I have 2 beardies 7 leos, and i love my uro the best. They can be hard to care for and the take a very long time to grow. I have a few people here in pa that have uros. 2 are pet stores and one goes to the hamburg show....ANGELS R US is the name of his company. It depends where you get them to depend on prices. I paid 55 for mine at the Philly expo. The one at the one store is 99.99 and the angels r us i think was also around 100.00. So i would say take a chance at a show in your area.
