snake taxonomy question

jayfischerherps Mar 20, 2007 09:22 PM

I am having radiation treatment for a thyroid condition, the physician has advised me to stay clear of children, elderly&pets.
they could not tell me how long or what bad effects it will have on cats&dogs,& they had no idea what effect it would have on snakes.
thanks in advance.
Jay~

How is that a taxonomy question? While I honestly don't think there would be any harm to any of the above, if they recommend you stay away from kids, pets ect., then I'd include snakes in there too. Do you have anyone who can care for them during this time?

my husbands boss was gong through somthing like this and they just said the young and old, didnt include pets so it may not be the same...
i called the local bird doc cuz he was worried about his bird, she said birds high metabolism rate would be like a kids so she would advise him to stay away from his bird. if thats the case, well herps are the oppisite of birds, (except often in attitude lol). but if they said pets id stay away just to be safe, lucky for herp keepers thye dont need as much hands on as other animals for daily care, you could look into a lead apron if you must be near them.
good luck!
