divided belly scales.....

wisema2297 Mar 21, 2007 07:56 AM

I noticed that one of my corns has a couple of divided belly scales. The first couple are a little more than half way down. The others are a few rows before the vent. Non of my other corns has these. Is this natural or could there be some other "influence" such as cross breeding, hybridizing etc?

Nobody's perfect!,....even snakes!LOL,.....it's just a deformity that happens sometimes, it doesn't mean anything at all......Like any other animal(including humans), there are going to be things that don't form properly................Doug

My albino black rat has a few of those, one near the vent and two in the mid section, I would'nt call it divided but more of like a dent that puts a line between the belly scales. I'm not really sure. He is a ravenous eater, and is relatively tame so I guess it should be nothing to worry about.

Its normal, the ones about half way down maybe 2/3 are where his attachment to his yolk sac was when he was in the egg, kind of like the navel on a person, where the umbilical cord was attached.
