Yes bathtubs work great...just ask Eve. Also, just move your bathtub outdoors for question number two.
Just kidding. I actually built a stationary pen onto my deck a few years ago. Nine by nine feet with vertical sides comprised of fiberglass skylighting material.
You can purchase large rubbermaid polystyrene containers and cut the sides out and replace them with 1/4 hardware cloth which is hot glued on. You can hot glue on some plastic mesh...whatever you find suitable. I believe some of the fine screens can filter out the beneficial rays of the sun.
Reptariums work well for short exposures, but you can get some snagged toe nails on some larger lizards etc. I would make for dang sure whatever you have is easy to take them in and out. I have more than once had to chase down my lizards outside. It is not fun at all!!!!! I recommend something that you can take put them in, and take them out while you are indoors to reduce this risk.
