Spotted shed problem

black_wolf Mar 22, 2007 08:22 AM

I have a female spotted python that shed about a week ago and when I took he out to feed her yesterday a noticed she had some shed left on the tip of her tail. I tried to gently peel it off, but only got a little bit off. Anyone got any ideas on what to do and how to make sure it doesn't happen again? These are desert type snakes....
here's a pic of her

My potted has also had this issue once or twice when the shed came unexpectedly and I had not misted the cage enough to raise the humidity.

Soak the tip of the tail that did not shed in water - just be sure the water temp is OK - then it should peel off easily.

Up the humidity.

I've read that contrary to popular belief, they're not desert snakes.
