I have a rough green snake, and he buried himself underground between the rocks on the bottom of the tank and the dirt above it. Whats the reason he did this? Thanks.

Some snakes feel more comfortable buried. Do you have enough vines and plants to hide him? If not he might want to hide and the next best thing is underground. Andy

There's a bunch of plants in there, enough that it makes it hard to find him at times (and its only a 10 gal. tank). Its about 75-80 degree's F in here, but I don't have a heat lamp for him yet.
I'm planning on building a bigger cage in the next week or so, and getting him a heat lamp and some better plants to climb on. I just wasn't sure why he'd go underground. Do you think the current set-up could be why he's not out in the bushes? I'll get a picture and post it tomorrow. Thanks for your help.
