IMPORTANT MESSAGE!

coluberking25 Mar 22, 2007 06:34 PM

I saw this in many other forums, including here on kingsnake and the rat forum) so I thought I'd post this important message.

There has been a recall of a particular pet brand for dogs and cats. I know the FDA has a message on their site if you want more info. I hope you havent been feeding that brand to your rainbow boas .

additions in blue

And if I understood the recall, it was for higher end single serving type food, at least that's what I got from the radio yesterday.

he was being sarcastic and as "snake owners" we need not worry about such things....probably not...but that's what I first thought when I heard the recall lol, I only have reptiles and amphibians and their food isn't fed a diet of dog/or cat food so I have now worries, I do feel very bad for anyone who has lost a dog/cat to this scenario, I would be very PISSY for certain.

It is sarcasm. And I hope nobody here lost their pets to the food that was recalled. If so I'm very sorry if I offended anyone in anyway.

...I did mean I hope you guys weren't feeding it to your rianbow boas. It was supposed to be a joke lol. I thought it would be funny to say that in a forum relating to animals that don't have any interest in dog food whatsoever lol. But yea I hope none of you guys fed it to your rodents.

Even if this announcement was meant as a joke, as nobody would feed dogfood to snakes. However, many of us feed dogfood to rats/mice which are in tern fed to our snakes. If something is in the dogfood (and catfood) which can cause death in these mammals, there is always a possibility that same 'something' can harm rodents or, if it doesn't affect rodents, it could be carried over into our snakes.
