My hatchlings growth

Rouen Mar 22, 2007 07:49 PM

the 2 that aren't giving me trouble have been growing, I measured them on the 4th of this month and #1 came in at 1 1/3 inches long, I remeasured today and she came in at 1 1/2 inches long, not to bad?

#3 hasn't grown quite as much but he's keeping up, just taking his time.

and well.. #2 hasn't grown much at all. I got pics of them from today, the 2 bigger ones have been basking a little to long under their lamps so they've got a little dry skin on the top of their heads.

#3 the colorful one;

#1, I'm pretty sure she's female, she acts female;

#3 with #2;

on a good note all 3 are eating non-moving foods, fruits mostly, I've been giving #2 banana to try to get some fat in him along with the maggots.

Nice pictures. My Wife is looking over my shoulder...she said, "AAAAAWWWWWW, those are cute! Why don't you get some of THOSE turtles?" I said, "Uh, hon, we already have THOSE turtles."

I will say, none of mine are as colorful as the first one...very pretty.

Bwahahahahahahaha
Funny

Rouen be careful about thinking one acts female. I got my yellow mud turtle when he was nickel sized, a hatchling.
He's 11 years old this year, I swore up & down he acted female & he must be a girl. He is to this day the most gentle docile little thing.. not male aggressive in any way at all but he is ALL MALE. We knew that for sure by the time he was 3-4 years old. He has the big honking male tail with a spike on it. LOL
I keep thinking the box turtle baby Kibbles is female but.. I'm not going to know for sure for a few years.
