Iggy success story

monocledcobra Aug 12, 2003 07:17 PM

If you love iguanas or just love ot hear a great success story hear it is.

I was recently in Michigan visiting relatives. I decided to do some paintballing, being that is one of my favourite things to do. I went to this place that had targets for you to shoot at. Before I fired my first shot I noticed that one of the targets seemed to be moving. Being I was the only one shooting I jumped over the wall to discover an adult male iguana with paintball splatters all over his broken body. (please excuse language) THE MOTHER [bleep]ING OWNERS OF THE PAINTBALL PLACE WERE USING AN IGUANA AS A TARGET!!! I immediatly scooped up the iggy, who was so weak he could barely keep his eyes open, swore profusly at the owners, and straight up took him out of that place. The vet I took him to ran him through everything, and told me he might not make it through the night. In the morning I returned to find the iguana eating happily. Over the next week, I gave him the proper care he needed and he made a full turn around. The owners of the paintball placed were sentenced to 10 years in prison for animal cruelty and had to pay fine apon fine, which eventually came to me. "Paintball" as I now call him has found a residence in my house. He is still a little shy around people but who could blame him. He adores me and everytime I look at him his eyes seem to say thank you. He still has some battle marks. Some of his "spikes" along the back are missing, You can see marks where balls hit him. And 5 toes were amputated. In the end though he is now properly cared for and is one of the best pets I've ever had.

Thank you for you time.

Where in Michigan did this take place?

In the Detroit, Taylor area. I just cant understand why people do this type of things. Heartless [bleep]ing rats.
