lance's rodent pellets: verdict?

caz223 Mar 23, 2007 04:53 PM

What do you guys think of lance's rodent pellets?
The only rodent pellets available on e-bay, and actually made by IFA.
I have tried some with my mice population, and they love it.
The e bay search engine finds it, and the page where you find it for sale offers the ingredients and nutrition info, albeit somewhat cryptically.
I think I'm gonna stick with it until something better comes along.
What do you guys think?

Just like to point out that I am not associated with it in any way.

For easy e-bay searching please type in 'pet mice food'.

Not gonna link it.

I think that with shipping it is WAY too expensive.

You don't have any feed stores or reptile shows nearby where you can get Mazuri or Harlan blocks?

I pay $13 for 33 lbs of Harlan 2018 lab blocks. Harlan is the highest quality lab block.

I live in a farming community, among many feed mills and such, and nobody understands why I would want to FEED rodents.
If I ask for rat pellets, I'd get D-con.
While bedding and the other stuff is reasonable (I'm currently using pellet fuel as bedding.) feed is obnoxiously expensive.
I may try to ask around some more, but I don't feel the success vibe, and despise special ordering stuff for animals.

Well any decent Purina dealer should be able to order Mazuri or Purina LabDiet. How would that be any different than "special ordering" it off Ebay for about 4x the price?

Well, I went for a long drive and got 100 lbs of lab diet 5001 for $75 out the door.
Best deal I could get, but they had it in stock.
Judging by the back of the bag, that's some high energy stuff.
