Naja-naja Mar 23, 2007 10:13 PM

I was wondering how to introduce my kings to each other I have 2.2 Wc eastern chain kings and want to breed them this year but dont know how to tell if they are ready. Is it anything like breeding corns??
Thanks Brandon

When my male is ready, he becomes very active, frequently patrolling his cage. I simply put him in with my female in the evening. He then immediately starts chasing her. I leave them alone overnight. In the morning I remove the male. I usually introduce them 5 or 6 times - or until the male is no longer interested.

When the female gives her first post brumation shed, put it in with the male. It will likely drive him crazy if she is ready:

That's a male (Cal King) crawling inside the shed of the female.

Feed the female a good meal and let her digest for a day or so - and then introduce her to the male. There's a good chance they'll lock up in a matter in minutes. At least that is how it was with both my pairs in my *post* shed trials (I tried breeding both pairs before the females first shed, and the females just weren't interested - the males were though)
