Hi i was just wondering if bacterial infections are contagious between uros or not? Also after you finish the meds about how long until the infection should be cleared up? I am just wondering because my new uro has a bacterial infection, shes on meds and doing great i must say, but i was wodnering about when introduction to Rico would be ok?

I'm going to say that YES the bacterial infection that Rico has is contagious. With most animals, including humans, if we get a bacterial infection it is indeed contagious. I would probably wait till he's all cleared up before introducing him, just in case.

Bacterial infections would be contagious. I would quarantine your new animal in another room until your vet thinks it is safe. Anything you have used with the new animal should be disinfected before any future use. I would also make sure to wash my hands thoroughly before touching Rico so as not to spread anything. Hope this helps.
