Mites

ballyhoo1887 Mar 24, 2007 04:04 PM

I just got a new boa and she came to me with a mite problem. I'm treating her now, but I've never dealt with mites before. I noticed that one of her eyes was swollen, (the scales and flesh around the eye, not the eye itself) and that the mites seemed to have gone in there to feed. My question is, once killed by the treatment, will they fall out? I hate seeing them still in there, but I know there's no point in trying to manually remove them, as I'll probably do more harm to the snake's eye. Thanks,

-Mack

Depends on what you used to "actually" kill them ?
The enire room should have been treated(pest strips)
As far as the mites infesting the eye orbits, that issue should clear up with the next shed.
There have been many threads on this topic, try the search feature for pest strip use.
