I am thinkin about getting a 50 gal rubbermaid container/tote and putting a 20 long as a pond with a screen top for a hatchling gator. Has anybody tried this???

Well, I certainly don't see why it wouldnt work. A 50 Gallon Rubbermaid would allow for multiple places to provide heat as well as cool areas instead of having heat too concentrated. Personally, I would go for it. I could think of other ways to do it, but yours sounds fine.

I went ahead and got one today I got to go to the hardware store soon for some screen and whatnot but I'll try to get some pics up when it's done.....
