You said your temps were good but what about humidity in the tank overall? If your leos still haven't shed all their skin, then keep soaking them in warm water for up to an hour. Help it along by using Q-tips on the skin thats tough to get off...if it still won't come off with Q-tips, then use tweezers but just be really cautious with them.

That being said, monitor your humidity within the tank...my leo had problems shedding his first 2 times, and since I've upped the humidity (it generally stays at 50%, sometimes to 60 at night but I never let it get below 40%) I haven't had any problems since.

If it gets really difficult, you could buy a 'shed aid' at your local pet store, I know exo-terra makes one.

What are the temps in your tank? what is the humidity?

layingframe Mar 25, 2007 08:01 PM

the temp on the cold side are 75-77 an about 50-60 % humidy
and on the hot side is about 90-92 and about 45-50 % humidy
it looks like most of the shade if ready to come off but it wont break. if i grab the skin on top of her back i can left it up about a 1/2 and inch but it is still attched at her side

i dont have a camera sorry i could take sum with my phone

LeoLady420 Mar 26, 2007 08:41 AM

Well if you can take them with your phone and post them that would be great. Otherwise try borrowing someones camera. Have you tried a wet qtip to help get it off. It's not to good to just rip the skin off you could pull off skin not ready and pull of skin that is good skin and make them bleed i have seen many people do this and it's terrible.

You have to get that to a vet. I actually winced when I saw it. That is something far worse than just some simple stuck shed. I am not an expert, but something should have tipped you off a little bit before. Even if you've never had reptiles, you should still be able to see that something is terribly wrong with it. Good luck.

LeoLady420 Mar 27, 2007 08:12 AM

Yea that's bad. It sorta looks like it was burned on it's back and that it is shed healing but shed stuck on shed stuck on shed. You need to take to a vet asap.

layingframe Mar 27, 2007 10:03 PM

when i took that pic she just came out of the humidhide and was wet and she just got that piece of shed off her back and the lighting didnt help .. yea i am taking her to the vet this week and this just happened this past week . she was fine then one day i woke up and had sum pieces on her and it turned into this

thnks people for the help i will keep u posted
