Update on Muffin

j3nnay Mar 25, 2007 01:10 AM

My friend is no longer returning my calls. Either his phone died, or he's just ignoring me, I don't know. My understanding from him was that the chameleon was not going to see a vet.

The cham's staying with me.

I can't afford the vet visit, but I talked to the folks at LLL Reptile (one of their stores is 20 min away from me) and they gave me some UVB drops and told me to try dripping pedialyte on her nose for her to drink, along with the warm shower you kind folks have mentioned. She's gotten some pedialyte (she actually perked up enough to drink it off the dropper, swallow, take a few breaths, then drink some more), and I gave her the shower, and she seems to be better than she was. I'll know for sure in the morning.

I'll ask around, see if there's a way for me to get this poor gal to the vet, but if all else fails at least I know when to draw the line and take her in to be put to sleep.

If she's perked up in the morning at all, I'll take pictures.

Thank you so much for all your help!!

Muffin died.

I found huge string of urates and some very light brown small feces still attached to her. I almost think she got too cold but it was 65ish in here last night and they don't need heat at night?

Either way, she's not suffering. Thanks again for your help.
