cleaning ?

in2deep Mar 25, 2007 11:22 AM

I'm curious what you all use when you do habitat maintenance. Previously when I've cleaned and disinfected, I've used a dilute bleach solution but that seems to really tough to get all the bleach-y odor out of the cage before reintroducing Dozer. Are there any better products that would reduce the amount of time he's out of his cage?
Thanks for any thoughts.

I usually use a chlorhexidine solution (Nolvasan, Virosan) for normal cleanings. I have several cages, so I just bought a gallon of chlorhexidine and mix up a solution in a spray bottle every week or so. I use it on cages, furniture, and food/water bowls. It's nice because it is easy to rinse and isn't corrosive to skin.

They have stuff called wipe out that is safe for cages to spray and clean. I personally use just water and clean.
