just fed my BP

deskjockey Mar 25, 2007 04:22 PM

I just fed my BP and he is chilling on the cold side of the tank. The temps are about 89 on the warm side and about 70 on the cool side. Should I maybe block the cold side of the tank ofF so he will stay on the warm side so everything digests properly.
And this is my first time feeding him, i used a live mouse and I was impressed watching him do his thing.

No leave him be he will regulate his on own body temp as long as you keep providing two gradiant temp areas in his enclosure , do not try to force him to stay on the warmer side if he does not want to be there , this could cause problems , also I would recommend that you continue to read, read and read some more about keeping these beautiful snakes and continue to ask questions , good keeping you have chosen the greatest hobby on earth.

My snake is eating the mouse ass end first and it doesn't look like it is going to work this way. will he realize whats going on and eat the mouse head first. I imagine I just leave him be and I'LL probably find out the answer before anyone even responds to this. Also the dumb thing grabed the mouse by the ass to kill it, I was scared that the mouse was going to bite since he coiled around his head but every thing looks fine.
