Out last night in Lancaster!

jasonmc Mar 26, 2007 04:56 PM

So Reako and I went out last night in Lancaster California to try our luck. We did'nt think we would see much, since it was freezing (by california standards, 60 Degrees). We started our search around 7:30 P.M. and did well. I a two in a half hour window, we encountered 3 DOR Mojave Green Rattlesnakes, 9 Live Mojave Green Rattlesnakes, 3 Great Basin Gophers, 2 Glossys, 1 Southern Pacific Rattlesnake, and 1 fat toad. All in all, we were stoked. Here are some pics of our finds!

Hey!

We see plenty on nights down to 60 degrees. Seen a few toads too, always fun!

If you are on the west side, those should be pacific gophers, but they may have basin influence as Lancaster is at a boundry. Way out east, we see the basin gophers. Its cool to see gophers not too far away with a totally different appearance.

Nice baby helleri too! What road did you find that one on? We actually picked one up on I at 110, I could not believe my eyes.
