Egg Laying

danbob987 Mar 26, 2007 05:19 PM

My Girl didn't lay her eggs in her egg laying chamber. She laid them on the tile in one of her hides and they dried up. Is there something that i can do to help her lay in the chamber?

thanks,

dan

What are you using as a substrate?he may not like it, and that's why she is not using it. It could be too wet or something that is not taking her liking to.

It is Miracle-Gro brand Sphagnum Peat Moss. I missted it every other night. Should i switch to vermiculite? What are your thoughts?

I personally use top soil mixed in with a bit of play sand, or i use vermucilite mixed with a bit of top soil. Both have worked for me.

I don't use anything from miracle grow due to it just scares me to use it they usually have stuff in it not healthy for herps due to "miracle grow" hense the name. LOL Just my personal opinion though.
