spilotes

just a quick question i'm looking at picking up a baby spilotes and i have a vision 211 2'*2'* 14" and was wondering how fast he'll outgrow it. I don't keep alot of herps but the ones i do, i tend to house them in cages bigger than needed. My black pines are in there own 5 foot visions and my tokays are in a custom 6*2*2. so i don't wanna end up with a 4 foot snake in a 2*2 enclosure in a nother couple months i'll end up building it a 5*3*2 but i have to wait for some nicer weather to fabricate it. I have always had a huge interest in spilotes but untill the last couple of months havn't heard to much about their care any help or info would be greatly appreciated

thanks again and i know tokays arne't nice

i've read the caresheets and they don't give alot of info on growth rate or the like and was looking for some more specific info on that subject.

Sorry my computer was down. They have some hatchlings for sale. Spilotes like a good hot basking spot and a secure hide spot.

my 03 male spilotes shed once a month like clockwork for about 20 months or so before finally 'slowing down'. he outgrew everything he was kept in fairly quickly till i tired of moving him & built him a 6' x 6' x 2' condo. his last shed measured 10' 5'' when dried though i'm not certain of his actual size. the females seem to grow a tad bit more demurely but that's a relative statement. good luck & keep those tools handy........

Did your black pines have a pattern at first ? I have a pair that are pushing 3 ft now and they still have patterning on their mid to rear half ...
