Hypo/leucy Fox snakes

littleleeper23 Mar 27, 2007 08:50 AM

Hello all, I had a few of what I chose to call Hypo fox snakes. Not sure what they really were but they were GORGEOUS! The strain originated with Tom Weidner from a WC Male in Des Moines, IA. It was a dom/rec gene with hets on the first generation. There did seem to be a fair variation in the young some having an orange diluted pattern some a gray dilute pattern. In 2001 I was forced to sell off my herp collection and was really wanting to find these WONDERFUL animals again. My original pair was sold to a gentleman in Kansas but I can no longer find or contact that person. (evidently email changes). You can Email me for photos of my original juvie pair. I actually had the photos posted on the KS gallery in 2001. littleleeper23@hotmail.com DOES ANYONE have any idea where to find them? Thanks and God Bless, Lee Van Hyfte <

No idea myself but it would help if you actually posted the juvenile pics so everyone knows what to look for. Besides we love pics in general lol.

Hi Sean and Jason,

I wanted to post the pics but do not have it on a web server. I did not see any option of how to just post it without a URL. If you have suggestions I would be more than happy to post them.

WARNING!! if you see them you are going to be in the same perdicament as me WANTING them and being unable to find them!!!! I NEVER SHOULD HAVE LET THIS PAIR GO!!!! WAH WAH. Hindsight is 20/20!!

And Jason thanks for the tip on the Email and spam issue I will keep that in mind next time.

God Bless, Lee

besides using the url of a photo service you can also just upload the pictures onto the kingsnake.com gallery. It's free for up to 10MB and once you do it you will have a list, of uploaded images, at the bottom of your postings to choose from.

Hope this helps.

Sean.

Well here you go NO DROOLING!! You should also be able to link to the male who was a direct sibling to the female. Please note the differences!! Lee

Those certainly are pretty. Unfortunately I have no idea on a source for them. Hope someone else on here recognizes them.

Hi All,

I did want to mention too that despite the similarities of the male to an albino. He did have black eyes. His pattern also faded more and more. there was quite a bit of grey to him to start with but nothing like the female.

And to the best of my knowledge these 2 animals represented 30% of all existing stock in 2000. The others were cousins.

The original Hypo was a male. And I believe sold along with several of his hypo phenotype offspring. As I recall out east to a colubrid collector breeder.

Wow those are certainly interesting looking. Were those western or eastern foxes? I would certainly be interested in where those would be available if they even are.

Hello,

Never even thought about it but they were Western Foxes. Can't say I have ever personally seen an eastern. Their range does not extend into Iowa.

I am out to rediscover the animals too. I no longer have them. Forced to sell off in 2001 and have heard not a word since.

That's too bad you don't have them anymore, I asked since I live in the stronghold of Eastern Foxes and as such they are strictly regulated here in Ohio.

Um No idea either but I just wanted to tell you that it is a really bad idea to write out you full email on here. You will get all sorts of spam from that if you are not careful. You can spell it out with spaces in between like
m y n a m e @ y a h o o dot c o m

Just a word of advice.
