just a quick question. How many vanilla's have you seen? I guess there is a possiblility of that being a vanilla but it does not have the same look as 99% of the vanilla's that i have seen or any of the ones that we have here. Granted vanilla's do get lighter with age but TRUE vanilla's are easy to pick out and are not ISH snakes. Breed it out and see what you get but there is a reason that there has not been a super vanilla brought in, they are RARE. But anyway, best of luck with that female, she is a looker either way.

The only reason i put ish as that I havent proved her out...She glows in person. And I ve seen vanillas and Fires in person and I'd have to say that she could be something new.But I need to prove her out first...I just wanted to get some feed back.
Kevin
feedback is great. you have a very nice looking snake that will probably prove out to be something. The only problem i have is when people take wc or ch animals and throw that "ish" term behind it. I only have pics of my striped vanilla male atm but will work to get some of my female and some other males. so for the mean time, here is some older pics of my striped vanilla and I appologize for those that have already seen them.

Why do you have a problem with ISH? Would you rather I said look at my vanilla female? I think that ish is the best way to describe a snake until you PROVE it out...Have you personally looked at several Fire verse Vanilla babies at the same time? I bet you couldnt tell them apart...I posted my pic as to get an idea of what people thought of her..not to slam your project..good luck this year and dont apologize for re posting your striped vanilla..what you could do is to post it with a normal for a comparison shot

instead of saying it is something or it's something"ish" one could say, look at this nice looking snake that I hope to prove out in the next few years to see what's going on with him/her.
And yes I've seen quite a few fire's and vanilla's, not side by side but at the same show and have seen most if not all of the vanilla's produced by GCR for the last 2 years and can say without a doubt if they were side by side I could easily pick them out from each other, they have different looks. Just like I can say without a doubt that in any given clutch from vanilla x normal I can easily pick out the vanillas and the normals. Are there vanillas brought in from africa each year, probably as I'm sure there are at least 1 other line and more than likely 3 more that i know of and this year will tell the full story on these other snakes. only time can tell the whole story and we all like a good book.
and i will try to get several different vanilla pics with normals this week. I should be able to post a few different vanillas with normals to show the variation between individual snakes but the similarities that they all have.

Josh,
Im sure that you've seen many vanilla's at Gulf coast.Ive purchased snakes from them and they have some amazing snakes. But you mentioned in your post that vanilla's come in every year, and a few new types...So it ould be that this female could be something special....Im sorry if (ISH) rubs you the wrong way,but it does have the look(as I to have seen many fires, vanilla and other's in person) and I hope to prove her out this year.good luck and post those pics
