Salmon Possible Jungle, opinions?

rainbowsrus Mar 28, 2007 04:59 AM

Hey, this is my Super Salmon Possible Jungle from Pete. She's coloring up nicely and was wondering what y'all think, is she a jungle?
This pic from a year ago

and the rest taken tonight. She's got some intense orange and pink colors coming up her sides.

I noticed that last year Pete had a couple of litters from some Salmons Pos Jungles and most of them proved out to be Jungles. I think your animal has a better than average chance of proving out. Some old Pix of my 05 Jungle Het. Albino

I would also Say Yes!!! Of most of the Jungle siblings I see, rarely do I think they will produce Jungles, but that one looks to have a VERY GOOD CHANCE.

Last year I had a Salmon POSS Jungle, that PROVED to be a Jungle and she was a little darker then that. I thought it was 50/50, and I got lucky. She produced some AWESOME salmon Jungles too.

So, GOOD luck. I can see why Pete sold it as a POSS Jungle as a baby, because it looks to NOT have the look as much as it does, but as it got older, it seems to HAVE the look.

I hope you post the results when you breed her. Good luck, Jeremy Stone

Hey Jeremy

You mentioned that as they get older they get the look. This girl was also sold as a poss jungle from Pete and did not have the color she does now at the time I bought her. At first I wasnt to sure if she was. Is the color she exhibits a characteristic of low expression jungles or it something that jungle sibs inherit? I would love to hear what you think.

Thanks Greg

I also have more pics of her posted below.

Hi Greg,

I saw that, and I have a female that is Almost IDENTICAL to yours. It is in the IFFY range. I was going to reply to your post below, but you got a lot of opinions.

Here is the thing about your snake. The FIRST half does look like a Jungle. They have the whites in the Saddles that appear like a Jungle. However, the Tail is more toward the normal side. That is the only thing that throws me off. Jungle tails are usually brighter. Either way, that is an awesome animal.

I really do think you have a GOOD chance of that being a Jungle. The tail is the only thing that makes me believe normal. So, it is DEFINATLEY worth the risk, and I would have kept that if I were Pete because it is a Female.

The problem with the Salmon Jungles, is the coloration and sometimes pattern gets muted when using both genes. So, with the Salmon jungle, some of the normals may just be awesome Salmons, and so, it can be very tough. I thought I had just a NICE salmon with my Salmon Jungle when she was born, but as she grew, she kept a lot of color, and she looked more on the jungle side. I got lucky, and I'm glad I kept her.

I think you have an awesome snake there, and I would NOT be surprised if she produced Jungles. That animal you have there is why the JUNGLE gene is a tough one. They are HARD to tell.

I hope it hits for you Greg.

I may be a bit bias on this subject but I think she is. I also have a hypo poss jungle from pete I will have to take some new pics of him so we can compare thier looks. Good Luck

To me she does look more than just Super Salmon, It does make it hard to tell having both color morphs together. I have three possible jungles, two of whuch are salmons as well, She's my best looker. I'll get new pics up of the other two soon.

Again, thanks for the replies!!
