Gosh I love that peach colored sand you have to match the snakes.
What brand sand do you use? Also do you keep your snakes on it or was it just for the photo-op/breeding?
It's a mixture of the red and white T-rex calci-sand. I don't keep them on it. I mostly use that tank for breeding and display.
Thanks for looking.
Here's a pic of Butterscotch in a more "relaxed" condition.

love that pic... I gotta get my hands on a good camera
That pic of Butterscotch with the flowers was taken a couple years ago with a really cheap Kodak digital camera. It was so cheap that I got it free when I ordered my Dell computer back in 2003. If your looking for a nice camera though I'd recomend the Panasonic DMC FZ7. There are a few of us here using that camera. I really like mine.
Here a few pics with the DMC FZ7

nice shots... if you don't mind me asking, how much did you spend on the camera? I need to find a decent one without breaking the bank...

to my door. I got mine on Amazon.com and I highly recommend them. It's a bit cheaper now and worth every penny. You will probably want at least a 1 gig memory card & an extra battery. You can get both of those cheap locally. I also bought filters and macro lenses.
Stay away from most of the cheap camera companies in NY. They advertise cheap but want to upsell and then put your order on backorder if you don't buy more.

Great all around camera, looks like you can get in tight and awesome scenry pics as well.

All of those closeups were taken before I got my macro lenses. One of the other cool things about the camera is the 12X zoom with stabilization.

I am still figuring out my Olympus Stylus 750. It's got a 5X Optical zoom with 7.1 megapixels and image stabilizer. A great field camera but I am not so good with indoor shots yet. Oh well, spring is here and I am starting to get more practice. I am studying some books to learn some tricks. I am a better herper than photographer, but I am willing to learn!

I like the way sand looks for photos..
have you bred on it before? and, are you concerned that it may/will stick to the hemipines during breeding?
~ Mike
I've breed mine on it for the past several years. It may stick to the males hemipenes but I don't concern myself with it to much. I've had stuff stick to my hemipene and it didn't hurt me.

LOFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sometimes we (I include myself here) worry about little things to much. If you've ever spent much time observing wildlife you'd see how much of a mess they are and for good reason. Life is tough. Snakes eat in the wild and swallow bark and cinders and pine needles with no problems. I'm sure males snakes in the wild have all kinds of cr@p stick to their hemipenes.
I was born in the 50's and most of the stuff we did for fun in the 60's and 70's is considered down right criminal today. Smoking in public is a crime, talking on a phone while driving is a crime. Life lived after 1985 is so politcally correct and sanitized that I feel like my growing up years were almost primative. Heck you can't even talk about hunting without hurting someones feelings or fear getting banned. Sorry folks but I'm a MAN and I make no apologies.
Rant off.
Oh and Todd as I look back on that post, it was kind of funny
