Creamsicle X Butter

wolfwoman Mar 28, 2007 10:38 AM

Hello all,
I bred a female creamsicle with a male butter.
What will their offspring be called?
I'd like to get the name right.
Thanks!

well, first off, if it is a true creamsicle, the babies will still be considered integrades. Crosses betwen rat snake and corn snake.
If they express normal color they will be rootbeers, if they express the albino they will be creamsicles, and if they are hypomelanistic they will be cinnamon or hyposicles

I heard that crosses between rat and corn are generally bigger than regular cornsnake. Is that true? Because she is the biggest snake I have, she is almost 5 ft.

I do not own any crosses between corns and rats. I have heard the clutch sizes are different.
I know from experience that my jungle corn (kingxcorn) lays eggs like a king. Much larger and only a few. So, maybe ratxcorns would lay more like rat snakes.
I think the largest corn on record is 6'.

Misty's right about the offspring outcomes. Also as you asked, the "emoryi" is more heavily built, and will have larger eggs and more "robust" hatchlings. So being a cross, you'll probably notice slightly larger babies than you otherwise would.
best regards!,

Misty and Doug are correct

I've worked with Creamsicles and they are more heavily built than Corns. Both my male and female grew well in excess of 50 inches. The clutches tend to be fewer, although I did have one clutch of 22! The eggs and the hatchlings are larger. Being larger, they are a bit more robust and not as fragile. Most of my babies were good feeders off the bat.

Good luck with your breeding and keep us posted on the results!

Cheers,
