African Soft-Furred Rats vs Normal Rats

EvoMorphs Mar 29, 2007 11:10 AM

What is the big difference between these rats? I know that people use the Africans for hard to eat snakes but if I buy these and use them on my good eating snakes will this mess them up later if I go back to feeding normal rats.
Thanks
Jason
One more thing is a med rat the same size as a med African rat?

Af. soft-furred rats (sometimes called Natal rats) are a lot smaller than the Norway rats that are bred for feeders. More like a really big mouse, size-wise.

If you check out the Feeder Rodents forum here on KS, you'll find a lot more information on these guys, there are a couple frequent posters who breed 'em
