More Possible Jungles, opinions?

rainbowsrus Mar 29, 2007 11:27 AM

Here are the other two of my three possible jungles, what do you guys think? All my poss jungles were bought with the idea they should also have something else going for them in case they don't prove out so each has an additional morph going on, two salmons and one het coral albino.

First up is a 2005 salmon pos jungle direct from Pete, not from the same litter as my previous pos jungle post. First an older pic:

And some I took last night

Second up is a 2004 het coral albino pos jungle. Was told he came from Pete but can't verify that. Only new pics for this one.

hehe I was disoriented at first also but liked the pictures.

Not being very familiar with non rainbow and non NA boa's I was wondering are those hogg island crosses or do they just have some similar appearance to Hoggs( color and speckling is why I ask). Also, since I've never found a clear definition, what is a "Jungle" boa? I know/assume it is a coloration or pattern but I do not know what to look for. Any info would be great.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

Sean.

darn, I'm having serious keyboard issues today. That or my PC has a mind of it's own......

As far as I can gather, Jungle is a variably expressive pattern/color morph. The pattern part is easy and the extremes are amazing. Color on the other hand is more subtle and complicated by the salmon influence. It's definately a color that intensifies with age. Here's several pics of my super salmon pos jungle that other folks in the know believe to be a jungle:

....the Jungles usually have the zig zag pattern or connected dorsal saddles or chainlink (whatever u want to call it) and/or dorsal striping in the tail and also brighter coloring. They are very aberrant making it hard to distinguish jungles from non jungles even at birth or so I read. Here is a link to Pete's collection of jungles

and his super jungles

Nice pics Dave and I might have to get one of those cherry salmons from you one day and I hope they prove jungle for you so you can get some SUPERS!!! Some of those are really breathtaking and reminds me somewhat of a very clean squaretail without the intense coloring (makes sense Dave?)

Yeah, but the problem is there are low expression jungles that just don't look that much like jungles. Those low expression animals do have the jungle gene and from what I've heard can still prodiuce high expression babies.

The cherry salmons are not related to the jungle line, just really nice salmons, from the summit line and a cherry red female. Still, they should produce some killer babies. Planning on eventually crossing them into the jungle and motley lines.

I know the jungles and cherry's aren't related or nothing I just meant that I hope your jungles prove out for you (def. the one u posted yesterday in the boa forum) and if one of the other two prove out then u get ur SUPERS!!!!! (if u don't have the same sex of course) I hope they both prove out and make a SDJ that's Super Duper Jungle. Dave what about a Hypo Motley with a little Cherry Salmon on it-that would be cool.

LOL, I thought so but you do tend to switch gears mid sentence.

Close, but more like a bit of Cherry Salmon with motley on top. Saving my female motley for homozygous motleys!!
