What smaller CB geckos make good pets

markg Mar 29, 2007 07:47 PM

I am not knowledgeable with the captive-bred gecko market. Are there any geckos that are CB that stay smaller than a typical leopard gecko for example, but still are easy to provide for?

Basically, I want a 10 gal-sized animal for my son that isn't a difficult keeper. Leopards are cool, just wondering what else is out there that may be a smaller adult. (Like, what about Texas bandeds? Are they avail CB?)

the best suited to our cage conditions and the ease of care I'm looking for. And they are available, and inexpensive, and tough enough to bring to his class on occasion, etc etc.

yes that is, however handling more then once a day will cause a lot of stress to the animal which would eventually create health problems. if you are going to do "show and tells" try to get a normal leo and not albino. these geckos are nocturnal and have very sensitive eyes. in a class with florescent lights it will freak them out. i say get a normal because their eyes are not as sensitive as albinos are. several albinos of mine go crazy if i try to hold them during the day but when it is sort of dark they are the sweetest of all my 40 geckos.
