Noise of various frogs

ttman360 Aug 13, 2003 12:37 AM

I already have three firebellied toads and am looking to get another type of frog. The problem is that I live with roommates so I cant have a frog that makes too much noise. I have my own room so as long as it isnt able to be heard in another room through a closed door. I was thinking of a cuban tree frog or a whites tree frog. Would these be able to be heard in another room? Any other suggestions would be welcome also. Thanks

From what I have heard and read, Whites can be quite vocal.

I have three Cuban males that are always calling and they are really rather quiet. I have them set up in the dinningroom area which is connected to our livingroom and when they call we actually have to turn the tv down to hear them.

If you decide to go for a White's you can always get an adult female, that way you don't have to worry about any calling. Female White's can call but it's usually only in responce to a male call or a sort of "danger" alert. But I hear that they aren't nearly as loud as a male.

If you decide on a Cuban, heck let me know. I have over 30 babies that are ready for homes! LOL
