new leopards not eating.

chamgranny Mar 29, 2007 10:20 PM

My husband just purchased for me 14 baby leopards and 3 adult leopards. The babies are eating every night. The adults have not eaten since we got them. We have had them about a week. They have the fat tails. I read in the care book that sometimes it could take up to 2 weeks for them to acclimate to their envirement. We purchased them from a very good breeder. Do I need to be concerned that they are not eating or wait until a couple for weeks to see .

What are you feeding? Crix? Mealies?

The first day I tried crickets. The next day I tried meal worms. I have been switching off and on.

In My experience, when i get a new Leo, he/she will only eat at night, until they are settled. I know other keepers where this is not the case, but in my experience it is. Are you leaving food over night? What are your temps?

Yes I put mealworms in the dish and they will still be in there the next day.
