Roach Question?

ssimsswiss Mar 30, 2007 11:40 AM

I seem to hear alot of people with Parson's comment on how they love Roaches. What species of roach would serve as best food source for a Parson's. I currently keep Orange Spots, and B. Discoidalis.
Any info. or shared experiences appreciated.

My main feeders used are; Crickets, Silkworms, and Superworms.

Dubias are my favorite, they breed really fast. My parsonii seem to like the adult roaches with wings best. An adult male dubia, or an adult discoid will get them every time. They do eat all the nymph stages though. Orange heads are also good, I would stay away from 6 spots, they have large spines on the legs than can cause injury.
The ABSOLUTE favorite of mine are walking sticks, but they are difficult to find.

I'll have to look a little closer at a stand of eucalyptus tree near my house. The leaves have the classic chewed on by a leaf cutting insect look. If lucky enough to find any walking sticks would gut-load with rose leaf bramble. Not sure if
