Incubation Advice

Josh_Zarse Mar 30, 2007 12:30 PM

Hey I'm kind of a noob when it comes to incubating leopard gecko eggs. I have incubated them in a Hova-Bator at 80 degrees (Female) but I notice there is a problem with the eggs. They seem to have dents in them. My guess is the humidity factor. It is at 88%. Is this to high? If so what is a good level to make sure it is at next time.

Thanks

Well, I think your problem may actually be a faulty hydrometer. Dents usually mean the eggs are too dry, or are infertile. Mold generally means too wet. If your humidity is at 88%, its actually a little high for incus. Did you get the eggs in there quick after laying? sometimes if I'm late picking them up, they will be slightly dented, but once they're in there they firm up. Are you sure thewy are fertile? They may also be hatching if there is a new dent and the time is close.
