How often should she eat?

LynnR Mar 30, 2007 03:46 PM

I got an adult, 3 footer, albino female Corn for Valentines Day. I've fed her twice since then and I'd like her to be on the same schedule as the younger snakes. BUT she refused her two mice this past week. She's the same one that took forever to shed. /

she is not possibly gravid (pregnant), is she?
Fefusal of food, and a shed are usually a sign there are eggs due in the next couple weeks.
Unless its a male. Refusal of food at this time of year is due to the urge to mate. Many males stop eating at this time.

Running on too little sleep
also, forgot to mention, adult corns are usually fed once to twice a week depending n the size meal. Larger meals less frequently or smaller meals more frequently.
Gravid snakes are fed totally differently to help with the extra requirements

Definately a female and the only way she could be bred is if she was bred at Valentines Day before I got her. / She used to be kept with a Cali King all the time. It's a wonder she didn't become dinner at some point. She's a really big girl, how do you tell if she's gravid?
