mdf snake rack

i built a snake rack out of mdf and painted it with black indoor out door paint.i just wondering if it is all right to hold ball pythons.i seen that some peoploe think mdf is bad for snakes . is it? thanks

MDF is used in an awful lot of snake enclosures, including some very valuable Green Tree Python cages, so I'm inclined to believe it is okay.

I'm actually more worried about the indoor/outdoor paint you used, although even that will probably be fine. Outdoor paints often have mold inhibitors and other such things which are said to offgas for extended periods.

Also, exterior paints are actually less moisture resistant than interior paints since they have to be so flexible in order to deal with expansion contraction, something that won't happen with MDF.

Give the paint plenty of time to dry and keep checking for any sort of chemical odor.
