Unlike humans, iguanas CANNOT use vitamin D3 orally. They must make it in their skins. Use just Calcium.

I have been using calcium w/o d3 4x a week....Is this enough or to much? To little?

It depends on how much per dose you are giving, and whether the ig is a male, or a gravid female.

Unless this is a gravid female, I would say thats too much. Most of the calcium should come from the dark leafy greens, collard, mustard, dandelion, turnip. Supplementing in general is a very big debate, and always ends up a matter of personal preference. I have a female and I supplement with some calcium powder very lightly sprinkled, about once a month. Unless of course she's gravid, or just prior to that time, around late December, I start sprinkling about 2 -3 times per week, and continue that for about 1 month AFTER egg laying. But like I said, other than most people agreeing that extra calcium in necessary for gravid females, you could ask 10 iguana owners that question, and get 10 opposing views, whether to supplement at all, how much, etc. I try to be a happy medium with my view on the calcium supplementing. Don't know if that helps much, but good luck.
