How much is too much?

odin22 Mar 30, 2007 09:30 PM

Hi!

We have month old baby red-tails, currently eating f/t fuzzy mice. Is 2 fuzzy mice twice a week too much? Is it not enough? I'd prefer to use up the bag of fuzzies we have before moving up a food size.

Please help?

four fuzzy mice a week is way to much for those babies. a good rule of thumb is to feed one appropriately sized rodent once a week for babies. It'd probably be a better idea to just go ahead and switch them over to rat pinks.

I'd say feed them whatever they are able to digest. Getting them on rats would be good, but if you have a bag of fuzzies to get rid of, it won't hurt your boas to eat them. I wouldn't worry at all about a month old boa getting fat or anything.

Thank you

Pookies ate again-- a bit sloppier this time than last--in that they didn't strike as cleanly.

But still they were very hungry.
