This is my first time breeding crested geckos and I was cleaning out the tupperware the eggs were in and had the eggs sitting on a towel on the table...when behind my back my dog got ahold of my healthiest egg! I caught him and he knew he was in trouble and he dropped it. The egg looks still good as new but now I am really upset because it has been tossed and turned! Is the egg gonna die? Please help!!

well that wasnt very good.......but if the egg is only a few days old you might be okay still. get a flash light and candle the egg. if you see something that looks like a little red bulls eye or circle or anything like that try to rest the egg so that the spot is facing upwards. you should never rotate an egg or anything. if it is older and has veins everywhere then next time you should mark the top of the egg with a soft pen or something so you know what way to lay it back. i hope it works out. good luck.

Yes that is what I did...that's all I could do. The gecko is within days of hatching. What a bummer!! Oh well..time will only tell now. Thanks for your knowledgable advice!

Mark the egg with a Sharpie, then when you drop it on the floor you will know which side is up, simple but effective, that is what I do. Check my WEB site I have a PDF on egg care, I think it covers this with pics...

Thank you. Well it has been a while since that last happened. The egg seems to still look ok so far. I have my fingers crossed. Thanks for your advice!
