how are you holding humidity, substate should be slightly damp and humidity around 85% or thell dry out. If your not using a incubator and have a stable enough temp, fluctuations can cause defects, this could work. Im incubating some nowin my front room but have them in a deli cup with pin holes in the lid. this will hold humidity better and keep drafts from affecting the eggs temp. I think your chances will be better.
