Music and Reptiles

natethegreat Apr 01, 2007 05:34 PM

I did an experiment for a science fair project to see whether music affected plants and it did seem to somewhat. It was really interesting and surprising. Then I was thinking if music affected reptiles and amphibians. I play music a lot in my room with my numerous herps, but I don't want to put any extra stress on them. If anyone has any experience with this or knows any information, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

I haven't done any formal research, but I've found that my leos and plated lizard come out and look around whenever I play my flute or my guitar in the same room as them. I've also noticed that the crickets I keep in there chirp much more frequently when there's music playing.

Would seem to me that if a "lower life form" without ears responds to music, the a "higher life form" would respond as well.

I'd keep away from the heavy metal.
