Sulfur and Pastel Sulfur Comparison Pics

wetceal Apr 02, 2007 12:30 AM

I was taking some new photos for an update we're working on for the website and wanted to share these photos since there has recently been some discussion of the Sulfur and Pastel Sulfur Ball Pythons.

The Sulfur is a subtle morph which can make it even more difficult to convey in photos. It is fairly obvious when seen in person, especially when you look at them next to a normal. I tried to capture a little bit of that in these photos.

These first couple of pictures are of one of our Pastel Sulfurs...

This is a photo of the Pastel Sulfur next to one of our holdback female regular Pastel Ball Pythons.

This is a photo of a Sulfur by itself...

Lastly, here are a couple of photos of the Sulfur next to a normal Ball Python...

Thanks for looking,
Celia

I’m sorry but I don’t see a grate difference or a lot of difference between them , I can see how a lot of people get confused or get them mixed up they all look a lot alike in the photos . But they are all beautiful animals . Thanks David of DS Reptile Rescue

Have you bred sulpher x sulpher?

wetceal Apr 03, 2007 05:48 PM

breeding has yet to be done. I don't know if Dave has a shot at it this season or not - hopefully so! The outcome of that breeding should tell us a lot more about the Sulphur and if it is something entirely new or a variation of other morphs we already know of...

Thanks,
Celia

Just ultrasounded the two Sulfur Mojave girls I bred this season. One was bred to a YB and her follicles are at 32mm so she'll be ovulating soon. The other was bred to a Sulfur Mojave and she's at 12mm. Her follicles just started growing so I'm still hopeful we'll see a super this season, the only downfall is there's a decent chance of it being mixed with the mojave gene.

looks fairly normal. They have white bellies with some black running down the sides but not solid black stripes. I'll try and take a belly shot the next time I do photos.

Thanks,
Celia

Here's a couple belly shots. They're white with a few YB colored spots here and there.

NOT see the diference between sulfers and normals in these pics. The difference seems pretty obviouse to me. They must look incredible in person.

I think even the best photo soes not do any snake justice, I just recently recieved a pastel and When i finally saw him in person wow is all I can say, he looked great in the pics but was unreal in person.

johnavilla Apr 03, 2007 03:17 PM

Yeah, even normals look different in person. Not always better though. I bought a female once based on the pic thinking she might be a burgundy and when I got her the pattern was the same but her colour was about as average as they come. Good thing I bought her as a normal.

Celia,
Although I strive to take quality pictures, I think your great photographic skills were exactly what was needed to better show the colors of the Sulpher and Pastel Sulpher ball pythons. It appears as if your animals are doing great. I can't wait to see what ya'll produce with those things.

Sincerely,
