name for my three-toed

biowarble Apr 02, 2007 10:42 AM

Fred if is a male,

Angie if the little turtle is a female....

What do you think?

Well, I suppose I ought to wait to see how the turtle changes with growth to see whether "Fred" or "Angie" fit properly. I would post a pic of the little turtle, since you all show pics of yours.... but I don't have a digital camera, and my little turtle doesn't look that remarkable. Looks like most hatchling/baby box pics I have seen.

Personally I love the name Fred for a turtle. I also like Floyd and Loyd. I wanted to name by diamondback terrapin Fred but my wife wouldn't let me, then one day she said,"he's really a people turtle", because he begs for attention (food) all the time. So I named him P.T. (sounds like Pete-ie) but is short for People Turtle

P.T. is a good name for that turtle, it seems.

Month(s) ago or so my friend/cousin said the turtle should be named after a boxer, hence I thought of Floyd for a while (Floyd Mayweather, boxer from the Grand Rapids). But I don't really like the sport of boxing, and Floyd Mayweather has an attitude that I hope my turtle doesn't get.
