Can anyone tell me where I can order rat food in bulk. I have about 20 females and 12 males and the little boxes from wal-mart every week don't last long (not to mention starting to get a bit expensive).
Thanks in advance for ya'lls help.

Petco sells 10 lb bags of Rat and Mouse food. I think it's like 15 bucks or so. My Petco has them over by the bulk birdseed, you have to check the little tag at the bottom of the bag to make sure it's not cockatiel or parrot or something along those lines.

Your best bet would be to go through the yellow pages for your area and locate the feed stores. Call them all and ask if they carry Rat or rodent chow. You should be able to get a 50 pound bag for around $21.00 or so. This is what I did and I found several in my area that carry it. Hope this helps.

Where are you located? I get in about 15 --- 50lb bags a week of Lab grade food, which is by far the best diet for them, exspecially for breeding and feeding . I go through about 15 bags a week with our rats but i can get more from my supplier.

I am Maryland, Salisbury area. I am in the country so finding a feed shop shouldn't be hard, but I would guess they only carry horse/cow/chicken feed. If we are close enough maybe I can have it shipped from where you get it. Thanks Kim

I'll shoot you an e-mail in a bit. Have a few things to take care of here at work. Don't go to NY Yet. Hopefully this year we will have enough babies to hit more than just Daytona and a local show! Fingers are crossed! Thank for all your help.

That's baby snakes, not rats.
Thanks Jenny, unfortunately we do not have a Petco here, which is surprising cause Salisbury has every other store! Figures!! Petsmart only sells small bags. So sorry to read about your bad day at school last week. That sucks! Has anything else come of it? On the other hand glad all went well with the kids.
Thanks for the reply

only way to buy food is locally......
find a local feed store...farm store....Agway works......
...........if you cannot find a good source try cheap dog food........it works......
....rat chow is $15.99 a bag here (50 lb)and that is too high....it's been going up since people burn corn too much in those pellet stoves and make the cost rise.......along with the ethanol thoughts and rising gas prices......
......go local.........
