ID: Banana blizzard or Patternless Albin

replover Apr 03, 2007 12:53 PM

Hi, this is quite urgent as I need to make a deal by thursday for this and to see if it fits into my breeding project.

Is this a Banana Blizzard or a Patternless Albino?

I know the genetics for both, I just have a problem telling from a photo of an adult with no idea about the parents and how it looked when it was born.

Please help. This is the only photo I'm afraid. Here it is:

Thanks!

Thanks. How do you tell actually?

It's just a Murphy patternless, an albino would have gold colored eyes with a red pupil.

Thanks for the photo. Very nice gecko. But to be honest it really doesn't help because the two morphs kinda look the same to me as adults anyway. Any features you can tell it apart like eye color??

Its hard to tell unless they are babies baby Patternless have some Rain Drop Type pattern on them while blizzards are born a solid yellowish/white.

I would have to say you have a really nice Murphy Patternless. In the pics below you can see the Albinos have more a gold/yellow color iris were as a normal Patternless has a gray/blue iris. You would almost have to compare them side by side to really tell.
I have produced some nice Patternless befor that almost looked like Albino Patternless, but the way to tell is the eyes.
The first two pics are a Tremper Albino Patternless & the third is a Rainwater Albino Patternless.

Normal patternless, that's my bet. The dark eyes say that it's no albino, that's for sure.

So its probably a Murphy patternless with very light skin, right? The other normal patternless ones I see usually have much more and darker yellow.

I've seen really light 'murphy' patties before... and I've seen chocolate-milk colored ones. *shrugs*

there's a huge range of 'normal' for this morph. I would consider that one of the better patties I've seen
